Federated Mind is a publication about AI tools, open protocols, and creator-owned publishing.
Mainstream platforms still offer the strongest reach and monetization, but they shouldn't be the only place your audience, archive, or identity exists. The fediverse and open protocols like ActivityPub give creators something they've never had before: real portability. The ability to move your audience, your content, and your public identity without asking permission.
AI is making this practical. What used to require a full ops team — self-hosting, moderation, content adaptation, publishing across multiple platforms — is increasingly something an individual or small team can manage with the right tools.
Federated Mind documents this shift as a live experiment. Every article, tool recommendation, and guide comes from actually building on open infrastructure — not theorizing about it.
